In Love With Jesus' Words

Those who love what Jesus said,

      Who feel on fire,

     Whose one desire

Is to bring honor to the Name,

Are living a life, of all lives

    The most blessed.

For every faithful follower,

   Christ has this in store:
 

"If a man love me,
         he will keep my words:
                     and my Father will love him,
                                and we will come unto him,
                                                 and make our abode with him."

                                      (John 14:23)


What has the world to offer,

                That even comes close?

                                  Not a thing.

Christ Alive in Us

        When we come across someone who has love for Christ Jesus at their center, we know, oh how we know. And tell me it isn't a thrill to find those who are like-minded.

        And to get to write for our Master.  But still, the object of what we writers for Jesus are doing,  I remind myself, is not solely to reach those who already feel as we do, but to so live our lives that others may wonder, what causes that person to be radiating such loving-kindness, to be so peaceful, so joyful, so strong in their faith. And when they ask, to be able to tell them what is blessing us so greatly.

        Jesus said, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your father which is in heaven."  (Matthew 5:16)  The heavenly privilege of being a reflector of that Light Jesus talks about, a Light that cannot be hid!  People notice these things, and just the other day a neighbor commented, "I know Jesus is your guy."  She's Hindu so doesn't follow in Christ's steps. We had not discussed religion, still something about what motivates me obviously came through in our dealings.

        Living what Jesus taught, and loving what He said, is going to show. And it just may cause someone to seek things higher, ending up with a heart on fire for our great King.

        Can you think of anything higher, more pleasing to God Who sent His Son to us than this?  I can't.

A poem for Thanksgiving

Does a famine of the spirit

     starve health and calm and ease?

Awake to the Master's promises

     and taste afresh the bread of Truth.

If of Love your loaf is made

     Life divine will fill emaciation's void.

But who's to grind and knead and bake

     before the grace and breaking?

If crust already cut and buttered you expect,

     turn rather to the garner first

            with gratitude.

God knows our needs

        These words of our Master, Christ Jesus, have so often given me a sense of comfort:  "Your Father knoweth what ye need before ye ask him."  (Matthew 6:8)

        If I didn't already wholeheartedly accept these words because Jesus said them, my daily experience would make me a firm believer of them. How many times God has given me what I needed when I wasn't even aware I needed it.  And following days and weeks have disclosed how timely our Father's care for His children is, and how comprehensive.

        I shouldn't be, but I am often amazed at what our heavenly Father does for us!

Thanks to Christ Jesus

        We have Christ Jesus to thank for revealing and proving fully our heavenly Father's constant love for His children.  And when we're empowered with the spiritual truths Jesus knew about God and man, and which Christian Science makes available to everyone today, we can prove these for ourselves in healing. These spiritual truths are contained in Mary Baker Eddy's book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."

        One example of what this book can do for mankind is recorded on page 644:

"After I had read Mrs. Eddy's work, Science and Health, a few days, I found that my ailments had disappeared and a rest had come to me which I had never before known. Like a prisoner, who had been in chains for years, I was suddenly set free. I did not know then how the chain had been removed, but I had to acknowledge that it came through the reading of this book. I then felt an ardent desire to read more, and to know what this power was that had freed me in a few days of that which I had been trying for years to shake off and had failed.  It then became clear to me that this was the truth which Jesus Christ taught and preached to free humanity almost two thousand years ago."
