Standing Fast for Christ

This being a soldier of Jesus Christ is not all charging up the hill, I have found.  At times, there is nothing that one can do but be still, hold the ground gained, until incoming fire has waned...be like trees in their majestic-ness who just stand there and take it.

Does not the Bible command us to "Hold fast that which thou hast, that no man take thy crown"?
(Revelation 3:11)

And I'm also thinking this morning of this, from the Discoverer and Founder of my religion, Christian Science.  Mary Baker Eddy says:  "When the smoke of battle clears away, you will discern the good you have done, and receive according to your deserving."
Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, page 22

It is a great thing to be willing to stand fast for Christ.  Given the crying need of  mankind for what the teachings of Jesus alone can give, can you and I think of doing less?
