With people scurrying around
Christmas gifts to find,
This comes to mind,
Something some time ago I read:
"Have I thanked You enough today
For Your unspeakable gift?"
A famous man more than once said,
Was heard by his men to pray --

It was, of course, Jesus
He was referring to.
Think of the influence for good
On those who heard him say it,
And on those who have read
His stirring words since.
How grateful are we
For what God has given us?
Let us
Boldly, Humbly, say.
(Can't help thinking this morning about another gift to mankind, and that the Discovery of Christian Science by Mary Baker Eddy -- especially her great book, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. The truths therein honour God's holy child in a sublime way in that it makes available to suffering humanity the truths that were the basis of Jesus' marvelous works.)
